Shah Alam – Football development in Selangor will receive a massive boost when Malaysia’s leading port, Westports Malaysia Sdn.Bhd. agreed to become FA Selangor’s ‘Official Football Development Partner’.

“Grassroot Football development was one of the key-focus areas that HH Raja Muda Selangor highlighted when he took over the helm as FAS President. For the past few months, the FAS Technical department had engaged with all the main stakeholders to come up with a comprehensive football development blueprint that will allow Selangor to have a structured program for budding footballers as early as 7 years old right up to the elite team academy. With the blueprint in place, our team then went out to meet a few prospective partners and we are extremely delighted when Westsports Malaysia agreed to become our partner” said FAS Secretary General,  Dr.Johan Kamal Hamidon.

“When Selangor came to us to seek for support, we decided to assist and become a partner to their grassroots football development. As development takes time, we are committing ourselves to Selangor till 2021 where we hope to see more young players come up the ranks to become professional footballers for the team and country.”

The partnership will see Westports being a prominent and exclusive partner to FA Selangor Junior, Youth and Elite Academies and also the Title partner for the Westports-FAS Junior League.
